Laker opener 2010

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Laker opener 2010

Post by bradford2 »

Got out a couple of times over the weekend to harass some lakers. Fish were mostly active in the early AM and shut down a bit as the sun rose. Day 1 I had a couple buddies in the boat and 22 fish made it to the surface. Most fish were small naturals and got shook off over the side of the boat. The biggest of the day was this guy..... decent fish.... and fell victim to a gold jigging spoon right on bottom.

Day 2 was a fun one. I took my neighbor and his son out to try some jigging. Neither of them fish so it was a real treat to have them aboard. I handed most of the fish off to the kid to keep him busy and his dad got into a real nice one. I think 15 or so fish were caught. Gotta love those smiles :D

Although that fish looked old, beat up and kind of sick it still swam away strong...... hope it grows into a real tanker for me to play with in the future.

Fish were at a variety of depths. We fished from 45 to 90 FOW and while a few were caught suspended most fish were stuck to the bottom.

Hope to give them a few more shots before bass season opens 8)

Excellent, Bradford.

Wouldn't expect anything less from you.

Glad the lad had a great experience, too.
