Looking to get a new one for my boat what shaft should i get 45 or 52 I have a 16 foot legand

Of course it depends on the height and where you intend to mount it. If you opt for the 52 you can't go wrong, especially on the choppy days when you are bouncing.

On the Minn Kota site there is a chart, depending on how far the water line is to your bow.
They suggest you do it on a calm day on the water and measure.
I am of the school that at little longer is better, just like thrust power you choose.

i bought the longer one for mycrestline fishhawk most i think you can ajust the height if you buy one to short your stuck i would by the 52
