SPRING LAKERS?? SANDBANKS?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

CCLad wrote:It used be GREAT fishing, but that was many years ago. We used to go out of wellington harbor and flat line walleye diver's in 15 feet of water and catch 20 + a day (all released). As soon as the water cleared up (zebra muscle's) that was it for the laker's. You can still get some decent browns early in the year in the that area......
I used to do the same, you needed an insider to tell you when the bite started as it only lasted a while. It was a great way to get out in the big lake with small boats and catch a tonne of big lakers. I remember getting them in as little as 7 feet. And out of 20 few were under 10 pounds and few over 15. :)
Catch and release them all

Great article on spring browns in the new "Great Lakes Angler" magazine.

They have a list and pictures of the best lures for spring browns. Interesting read and well worth the cover price for those that were asking questions.
