Russian Fisherman Hit The Mother Load

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I feel so mad when I see poarchers, and reguarly do at the ottawa river using multiple lines and not respecting limits. Another thing thats been annoying lately is seeing people harvest bass less than 8 inches long. It fine to keep the the ocasional fish but seems I have been encourtering fisherman who treat it a business transaction were the goal is to get the most fillets as possible at the expense of the resource. This has been quite apparrent at the filtration plant were I have seen the numbers of smallmouth nosedive and size shrink.

These videos rarely show the truth to what is really happening.

The fishing weir had to have been in place before the freeze and it looks like a small pond their on, so if I had to guess they are culling a stocked pond to head to market.

Or they just messed up the best lake for fishing in the world.

They are saying that they finally got onto a good 'pile' of fish and that this is what you can expect when using their guiding services....they also provide the guides to fix you up a shore lunch you'll never forget!!!

Don't care about the circumstances, it turns me off big time regardless. The smacking fish with a shovel simply because you can just reinforces my low opinion of these guys.

Doesn't look like any fun... where's the challenge in scooping fish out of a hole with a net.

Yea... I'll never forget the time I ate 1000 fish for lunch.

I can.
Didn't watch the whole vid, but at 0:40 he says "there's the angler with the rod" (just as buddy picks up the net). Smalltalk after that.

This is an old clip which was all over russian fishing sites a couple of years back. Comments there were almost the same. Apart from the cassacs part. People were saying it was happening somewhere in lower parts of Volga river. Fish there migrates during winter and these guys build kind of a wall which prevents fish from going futher upstream. This is the way fishing was done there in the past (18 century or so). They will deffinetely sell the "catch" and there would be no one to reinforce the law (moreover they could be cops themselfs or at least good buddies).
But being born there, I never had a problem releasing the fish (here or there). And in fact being living here for 2 years I never even ate a bass.
