31Mile Lake is extremely ....'' Dangerous ''

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

1 inch of ice at the shore line , open water in the middle

A lake just down the road has 8 to 10 inches of black ice..

Which we ended up icing a handful of oos lake trout...

BA..... Is your wife p1ssed? Or did you drain all the water out of her trunk before you returned the Civic to her? We would have made it back to the launch dry if you hadn't slowed down to take a picture of that Tuque Crested Turkey!

I did not want to disrupt or hijack the Ottawa sewage thread.

Bassaddict.....31 Mile is still VERY UNSAFE...ESPECIALLY after all the rain and mild temps we've experienced this week. I was there and trust me, it is not safe!!! A few monster whities is definately not worth your life.

Be smart and play safe.

Your welcome!....it's the least I can do posting from a nice comfy chair.

Even if the temps remain in the minus during the day for the next month, it is a tricky body of water to venture out on. I know and have first hand rescue experience from last winter when the conditions were decent.

Going to be checking out the big lake in a few spots next weekend and if there is no safe ice than it's plan B backlake walleyes not far from. The weather is getting more convincing.

Thanks Grant.
