Ottawa Ice Fishing Tournament. Interest???

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

can't help but agree on that, unfortunately.
it's a good 10 degrees warmer than what it was this time last year. :(

I'd be up for meeting some FHers and joining in the fun. Just a warning to everyone else though, this will be my first year ice fishing so beginner's luck might be on my side. :P

PS. Can I borrow an auger? lol

If you do this tournament at Petrie you will want to do it early in the season, sometime near the first full moon with safe ice. I find there is only a week of good ice fishing at petrie and that is during the week of the first full moon on good ice. I kept a shack there all year and caught saugers, saugeyes and walleye almost daily. I caught one grandmother walleye all year on the second day our hut was out, it measured 26" the same week in the evening, a group of three of us caught about 6 12-18" walleye. these catches were all in the same week around the first full moon where the ice was safe.
But regardless, i'm in for whaterver tourney you want to offer near or around ottawa on the ontario side
and if you need help organizing this thing, don't be afraid to ask, i'm sure others would like to see this thing a go and would help you out
