ok there fella's ...
ok there fella's ...
Here are some things that I would like to see changed on this forum to stop the endless bickering on this site.
a) remove fishing pictures from Fishing Talk, and load up a new sub-forum called "Bragging Board"
b) to promote the friendly transfer of information, a "thankyou button" could be installed on each post, and a tally of thank-yous given, and thank-yous recieved be shown on each members Avatar area.
c) all members should frown upon thead hijacking, or the idle chit-chat that that happens between some posters. A button should be installed on each post to alert the moderators, that can be used by only active members.

Two cents
The funny thing is...it is always the same people behaving like this anyhow! I have been a member on here since 2004 or 05 I believe. I check this site often while at work. I am always hoping to catch a good report or even better, a Moosebunk adventure. I rarely post anymore becuase the nonsense that occurs, but I still have a look. The people that behave like children, know who they are. Just go back and look at every locked thread and you will see the same suspects appear over and over again. Thats what really needs to be addressed here. The high tech stuff is cool, buts lets face it...there are a few individuals on here whom always want to stir the pot and not for the purpose of making a nice seafood chowder.

I think the reason for most of the clashes is related to the fact that some members here are just hobbyists (like myself), and others use fishing as a source of income (guides, sponsored pros, writers, etc.). The latter group are under pressure to keep a good image as FH is one way for them to market themselves. This creates this ego thing that has been going for a while.
My 2 cents.

Re: ok there fella's ...
I totally disagree with this. Fishing Talk IS Fish-Hawk, and the report IS Fishing Talk.
a) remove fishing pictures from Fishing Talk, and load up a new sub-forum called "Bragging Board"
The pics are so much part of the report. How do you describe someone's joy in a report as well as a pic shows it.
All this accomplishes is treating the symptom, not the disease.
People can't even post a pic of a bass without some friggin' self-appointed, self-righteous know-it-all ruining a great post, or better yet two of these Rhodes Scholars with apposing opinions get into a pi$$ing contest and ruin a post.
Are some people that jealous of others success that a simple congrats can't be given to celebrate another anglers success?
The disease that is in here lives off attention. With out attention it will die. Remember, never argue with a fool, they will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I think some people just LOVE to talk, and talk and talk, and talk and not about fishing.I think a lot of people have left this site due to this. Same people on every post answering any question they can whether they are right or not does not seem to matter to them as long as they get their post's count up.
Sometimes the site seems like you might as well ask only certain people questions because you already know they will be the ones to answer anything and everything.
Some people make it sound like there is a group of angry violent fisherman awaiting for them outside of every tackle, Ferrari and Rolex shop, just waiting to do them harm for some reason.
Just my 2 cents.
