hey do you guys know anywhere you can fish for muskie from shore? i hared the bronson bridge was good but havent tried it, anyone fish there before?

Man, that was one good day of fishing.

and a general note: MCI website info on holding musky is based on anecdotal reports. tales of broken spines etc are unsubstantiated.

while anyone would encourage proper catch and release tactics, and I do mostly water releases... vertical shots of fish, particularly when supported by two hands, shouldn't be a problem. esp. with smaller fish.

Carmine13, lots of muskies have been caught in the area downstream from Hog's back. enjoy!

Ha! Ha! Thanks for the quick reply. Catching one while casting is awesome but There is a lot to be said for the excitement of suddenly hearing the line being peeled off a reel at high speed while trolling and knowing there is a nice musky on the end ready to do battle. We were out on the Rideau about a week after you guys and did 50/50 casting /trolling. We hooked a nice fish on the troll. Got it next to the boat and realized net wasnt big enough. Had it partially in net and it was docile. Did not want to bend it by bringing it into boat with net. By the time I went for the gloves and pliers it got "re- energized" and with a couple of shakes it spat the hook and was gone. That same day we saw a musky" fly " out of the water . when we got closer we saw a duck followed by three ducklings in the floating weeds. Pretty sure there were four little ones before the fish got to them. What a sight that was! We put in 6 hrs. before we hooked our fish. You guys did great to get all of those fish in two days. Wow! I cant wait to get out again.....with a bigger net! Cheers
