Anyone else like that show?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

One of the worst shows on the WFN by far. As well as charlie moore and shelley and courtney. They all suck

Good Thread Jamsers

I only watch a couple, my fav show is Fishful Thinking. I have learned from the show, the info provided is helpful.

Charlie Wray is someone that I would be willing to fish with. Many of the other show hosts are the kind of people who would only be in my boat 1X, they may know their stuff, but I don't like their attitudes.

charlie moore is the single most "entertaining" show on TV.

Beat Charlie Moore is even better than Charlie Moore Outdoors, but both are great to watch....

not everything needs to be serious.

The only fishing I think worth watching is Mark Kurpa (I think thats how it's spelled)Hooked.
He's not selling tackle or giving guided tours of lodges. Most of these fishing shows are nothing more than 30 min. commercials.

again, Krupa is the man.

The episode where he was camping in the middle of the north for brookies...may have been the best fishing episode ever made!

Charlie Moore = fingernails on a chalkboard but hot wife
Henry Waszchuk = shameless mooch and unrepentent law breaker
Sportfishing BC = oh no not another show with Brian Chan
Lunkerville = best part is the end...no really the music, old pictures
Cronzy = forget waterboarding.....close down Gitmo and have detainees spend a week with Cronz in a remote camp (against Geneva Convention?)
Mariko Izumi = girls gone wild go fishing
Pete Bowman = close your eyes and he sounds like Popeye
Pete Mane-a = can also be found on mullet.com.
New Fly fisher = ground breaking info "pike sometimes will hit surface and subsurface flies".....thanks for sharing that.

turned in by camera man

Post by mikemicropterus »

:D Henry and Italo were turned in by their camera man after he asked for more money and they wouldn't belly up to the bar.

I met both of them yeasr ago at a seminar they did I was there reprsenting OMC and they were doing a walleye seminar. Henry was very personable but Italo was a total knob. After the talk I treid to get him to answerr a question and he walked rigth by me and went to the truck and stayed there. Wouldn't even help take down there visuals and take them to the truck. Henry answere my questions and did so in a very professional manner. I followed him to the parking lot as I had some of their equipment only to see Italo in the front seat window up and ignoring everyone else. I asked Henry what Italo's problem was and his response was  .THyer hired a local guide to do a walleye show and Italo wanted to get closer to a schoal, The guide advised against it but Italo was insistant. When the guide damaged the skeg and prop because to the wind and the rough conditions Italo wouldn't even think of offering them anything for the repairs. Truly an unprofessional person and I change the channel when I see his show now. I agree he sounds like he's talking to a 2 year old. Henry I don't mind.
If you think these guys are then only ones who fish out of season AHHHHHH wrong they are the only ones to get caught.
Don't get me going about Bill Saiffs Rod and Reel and he's a lawyer.

I don't watch fins and skins and I don't golf. I do watch Fisihng the Flats and I loath Fishn-Canada can't stand little bowman nor the other guy with that crap on his chin, what's with that does he not know how to shave.
The guys I did think were really funny were the 2 guys from out west who were high all the time, don't remembe the name right now but it shows you any fool canget a show and speaking of that there was the Weekend Fisherman, there was another bonehead.

Bring on Bill Dance..... :D

Roland Martin......."SON"! He says it all the time. Sounds like a moron. I like his kids show though.

"DEAL" is to Shaw Grigsby what "SON" is to Roland. He uses it gratuously to describe everything.....Whats the deal with that? Very annoying.

Bill Dance has fished the same phosphate pit in Florida now for about 10 years. Boring. Well produced show though.

I like Karl Kalonkas show but could do without the cheezy flame graphics and head banging music.

Bill Saiff (aka Billy Condom).......what ever happened to him? Likely he barked one too many orders or was caught hitting on anothers wife and he got thrown overboard. Everytime he had a woman onboard he spent the whole show trying to get her in the sack.

If I recall correctly Rod and Reel is/was produced by PBS.
If that is the case it is a publicly funded show and as such would not be on a syndicated channel.

I may be wrong and ya he may have hit on the wrong woman and now HE is swimming with the fishes...

It would appear that the consensus is that for the most part fishing shows suck? Might have something to do with the fact I rarely watch them anymore.... 8) But thanks for detailing exactly why that is the case.....

One that nobody has mentioned is "Crying of the Loon" on APTN

I've watched it and actually enjoyed it - even though it is low budget, it seems to me as more realistic - fewer edits and longer spans between catches.

+1 for Krupa. Also looks like the least edited show.

Does "Dimestore Fishermen" still play? I think those guys were a little too intense for most but at least you could relate to them, no fancy gear and no much advertising except for a couple episodes in Northwest Ontario.
