Intro - new to Canada

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Intro - new to Canada

Post by Zimbo »

Hi guys,

I am new to the site, and also to Canada. Immigrated in August last year from Zimbabwe, quite a change :D
We live about 15min from Lac Mcgregor in Quebec, so I guess thats my 'home' water. I have not had a chance yet to get out on the Ottawa river, hope to do that soon and hopefully get into some of the great fishing that I have seen from other FH members.
I am mainly a Bass fan as that was the main fishing back in Zimbabwe, but its been really cool catching Pike and trying for Walleye...I say "trying" as I have not caught one yet
:? but I am sure the time will come.
I am hoping to head down to White Lake this weekend, it will be my first time there. Anyone fished there recently? How's the Pike and Walleye action?

I am itching to start for Bass...roll on June 23.
:)

Fish-Hawk is a great site and I look forward to participating often.

cheers

Welcome to the site Zimbo. I haven't been to White Lake this year yet, but did get some decent Pike, Bass and panfish last year. Give it a shot. I mainly fish out of a canoe so it helps to get to a few spots here and there. But if you have a good size motor boat, you can certainly explore a lot more. Good Luck!!!

Hey Zimbo and welcome...White lake has been not bad this year. My buddy has fished it at least once a week this year and has caught some nice pike and a lot of OOS bass. Good luck out there and be safe.

Welcome to Canada Zimbo!! You are in some of the best Smallmouth waters in the world. Not to mention, if you feel like something different many trout lakes are in your neck of the woods!

Welcome to the site (and country!) Zimbo. There are definitely fisherman here that have better knowledge of the lakes in your area, but I'll agree that you've got lots to choose from!
Happy fishing!
