So last night after work, I decide to go fishing at my favorite fishing hole on Dalhousie Lake. The 'eyes were hot!! I had a blast, got there around 8pm, stayed untill 11pm.
In that time, I caught 13 walleye! Three were at least over 20'. The average fish was between 12' and 15'. I also caught two pike and a rock bass, all of my fish were released.
I was using jigs, there was a couple from Almonte fishing there also, they were using live bait. They both caught there limit (2 each). However, they lost at least 5 fish, as they were not using stingers and the 'eyes were just picking the minnows off there hooks.
Needless to say that the bit was hot last night, they were hitting just about anything that hit the water. Makes sence, as there is a cold front moving in today.

My parents live just up the road from the lake.wolfe wrote:You were on fire -- fantastic walleye fishing! I want to say "lucky", but it sounds like you had some skill involved, too.

Ive been fishing the lake since I was 7. Right now is the best time to catch walleye from this particular area. By the end of June however, all you will catch there will be rock bass and L/Smallmouth Bass.
If you do fish there, all I ask is that you pick up your gabage, its disheartening to go there and see garbage strewn all across the area.
