Last day on the ice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Last day on the ice

Post by Fish'n Buddy »

Finished this hard water season almost the exact same way that I started it. Dec 12 I caught 1 fish, a 21'' walleye, and today at the same spot in WB, I caught a real nice 22'' walleye and that was it. This time I had company though, X-Tobin , and he caught a nice one too but his was under the slot so kept him for the pan. Real nice afternoon to be out at Petrie, plus 15 on X-Tobin's themometre. Its nice to be out there with no jacket, touque or gloves, and being able to see the beach, and all the geese landing in open water at the edge of the island. Theres still alot of ice, but its obviously not the best. You deffinatly have to be alert and pay attention where you step. We were equipped with some survival equiptment but that was overkill for sure, but you never know  If we get the rain tomorow we are supposed to I'd say that will be it for me. It's been a great season, i'll be sure to post my pics soon as I get them all together.

Yeah, never expected to ice fish that late in the season but what a great day. Also good to see some nice size spawners in the area.
