reactor leaks again in the news.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Joco...

Your right.. I brought this up about a month ago and yes again another leak. Of course you will have some believing and some that will tell us not to read into all the news...

The leaks are becoming more frequent.. The last leak they told us none escaped into the water and was all contained. Now we read some did escape into the water....

Who can you trust.. the people that report the news or the people that are tight lip about the actual facts. Its a coverup and a shame and this is my opnion....

Quote...

It was also discovered the reactor had been leaking up to 7,000 litres of water a day for more than a month from a crack in a weld.

And that my friends is alarming...... to say the least!

Yep, that's not good.

Also not good is the City of Ottawa leaking even more sewage into the river last week, and the guy responsible for the huge spill a few years back getting his job back????????

This crap happens way to often and there is little to no accountability, it's truly disgusting

Anything leaking/leaching into a waterbody that is not supposed to be there is bad.

How about all that Freon-22 that got into the Ottawa River.

BTW, 7,000 L/day leak would be COOLING water (river water).

The not in my backyard stance at the very begining of this artical leads me to belive all the rest of this "information" will not be accurate.
"However, when that reactor is old and prone to leaks, I am particularly concerned. Even more alarming is the fact that these leaks are not reported to the public in detail in a timely manner."

So with this writing there is an assumption that 7000 liters a day is heavy water. I dont think so.

Adding more water to anything(except more water) is still diluting anyway you look at it.
Does it make it less harmfull no.

This does seem very one sided.

I can read the front pages of the SUN.... well with a diffrent politician saying it!!!

"There's a hell of a lot of radiation Joe Fouchard, USNRC spokesman"

Guess where that saying came from????? Sure differnet reactors... but still reactors... The cause a faulty valve with over 500 employes exposed

As for the earth quake.. thats just not funny.. here is the effects from one in NY... Five plants were closed down there just two weeks ago over fears of the effects of earthquakes on cooling towers.
