My unit seems to be loseing the sonar signal even with the engine off drifting? The depth reading flashes? GPS seems to be working fine?
Any thoughts as to the problem?
Lowrance LCX-25 Problem?
Does your transducer shoot through the hull or is it mounted outside?
If it is mounted outside it may have moved slightly. Make sure that it's mounted securely and that it's pointed correctly.
You may also have a wiring issue. My Lowrance got a frayed wire when a genius at the gas station decided to flip the transducer up because it looked like it was out of line.
Chances are that the transducer isn't aligned correctly. Check that first.

How deep of water and what type of bottom?
If you are in shallow and there is lots of weeds or mud bottom the sensitivity can be set to high and the sonar will penetrate through the bottom while having trouble returning a signal. Also in shallow water you have to turn down the sensitivity as the signal is extremely strong on the LCX units.
Hope that helps a little...
