Can you identify these fish?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

OK you guys are way off topic now...I hope you had fun though. Catching different species adds spice to my life and trying to identify fish not indigenous to your area can also be fun and challenging.

Trout and Musky Hunter gets the last gold star! It is a Stonefish! Well done.

Anyone else have any exotic species they'd like to share? This thread is open for anything now!

Jeff, great thread!!

I had a couple of exotic species at the bachelor party I threw at my house last weekend. Unfortunately the pics are not appropriate for fish-hawk.net. I'm sure there wouldn't be any problems identifying these particular species though!!

Rats...seems I missed the boat on this one! I was sure #1 was the elusive deep-fried uglythang...

Notsofatluke,

I didn't realize you were so close to the nuptials. I won't be around for when you tie the knot, but I wish you all the best with the lucky gal. Truth be known...you can send me a PM regarding those exotic species you encountered over the weekend...too funny. Best of luck friend!

TMH,

No worries man...Tight Lines! Good guess on a tough species to identify!

jcorrigan,

Agreed fish #1 was an uglythang. Lots of wild things of nature in the saltwater. My friend that caught it said he had to wait until it came out of the coral after hooking it. I can just see this fish flexing its fins and gills to remain glued to the coral.

Jeff I was hosting the party.. It wasn't for me...It was for my best friend........ but if I don't get closer to the nuptials soon she's gonna be gone.. LOL..

I don't imagine we'll hook up before you leave, but it was good the few times we have. Grant informed me that you didn't sell all of your ice gear, so you'll be back. I'm sure I'll make it out with you when the time comes!!

So what do you think? Has anyone ever caught or seen one of these fish before?
This one looks like some type of sculpin to me.

I've never caught one that looked exactly like that, but very similar. All head, lots of horns, blotchy colours. As a kid, I cut my catch-and-release teeth on sculpin fishing back east!
