BAY OF QUINTE SAFE ICE?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

BAY OF QUINTE SAFE ICE?

Post by Suddsy »

Anybody know what the ice is like at Sherman's Point on Hay Bay/BOQ :?: I have two huts rented and am taking my two sons and son-in-law fishing this weekend and am wondering if the ice is thick enough to take my Honda ATV :?: The hut rental people are saying no problem with the ATV but I guess because I am taking my boys out I just like to be sure

If they are telling you it is safe it should be safe. An outfitter giving false information like that could be in a heap of trouble if they were wrong.

Where is the outfitter located on the Bay?

How much ice is there (inches)?

Of course, always err on the side of caution when it comes to things like this?

I too am headed to the Bay this Saturday or the day. There are some safe areas and LOTS of unsafe areas. I will be treading on foot this go round.

Let us know what they tell you.

Be carefull if you are heading from the shermans boat launch west. The Ice is always thinner out at the point. In around the launch is less current. Let us know how the conditions are.

A good place for bait in the area is on shore rd. Dew drop Inn. Awsome pricing on muds and they give you a pail full. Good luck to yah
