Ottawa River Water Level!!!!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

MORE responsible and tend to their shacks

you are right.

that is one reason i dont have one....because if i work out off town etc and i am out off town on weekends i cant go take a look at them.

wen there snow or rain you have to go see .to jack it up etc.

portable shak is good for that...not mutch troble.

but i do have to say this wind and wind was not predictable..more the wind actualy the rain..mabe a bit because they did say about and something could have been down in the rain..

but i still feel bad for them. :?

they better get there stuff done before it get cold because then it will be big troble..if they get stuck in ice big time.

I know Joco...my ice shack will stay in the yard...I decided to buy a Clam Yukon that I will pull behind my ATV or sled..

If the owners of the shacks let them freeze to the ice they will just use a chainsaw in March and cut the floor out...then the people that live on the water will have to pick up all the debris in the spring...I HATE doing that!!!

I was down at Petrie yesterday to do some fishing and coulnt even get on the ice....the problem is you could probably put a plank down to walk out but I wasnt even sure how far you had to go out to get decent ice. The last thing I wanted was to be walking out to the end of a plank only to fall through 10 feet from shore. So I turned around and headed for home. Anyone able to get on? Anyone know where you can get on the ice?

I just tried getting on the ice in the Constance Bay area.....it hasn't even iced up by the shoreline from last night and I'd need a 30' plank to even try and get out to where I think the ice would be safe to walk on...maybe by Monday or Tuesday

I've never seen such insane weather...I lost 3 feet of snow off my back deck in 2 days...unreal...

I feel for the guys with the shacks out there....lots of time and effort goes into shacks and I sure am glad mine is still in the laneway...

Takin the weekend off the ice....just not worth the risk or hassle...
