ICE DERBY EVENT

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Or make it the smallest walleye!!!!! Cause there is no way of doing this legally.

Any fish caught out of Slot limits has to be released immediately. And we are not talking about 15 seconds or so for a quick picture here.

AF...have you ever seen a tournament where the fish are measured in length instead of being weighed???????

I can tell you right now that a female walleye caught in March will be full of spawn, with a huge girth as opposed to a male of the same length and will weigh in a LOT HEAVIER....

Maybe we should just forget about walleye all together then.

Troutmuskie: We did it by length last year...The only issue this year is this new slot size. It worked pretty good doing length last year I think???...But you are right on what you said.

We have an executive meeting on Jan 7th and we will figure out what we are going to do with the walleye issue.

WB it's not that strict is it? you can't even take a picture? seems a bit over the top...If you have pliers and a camera ready you can release a fish properly no problem after taking a measurment and a few pics...
Theres no reason why walleye/sauger should be excluded from the derby

With the prizes being awarded. I don't think that a picture and a measurement will cut it!!! I did say that I wasn't talking about a 15 second thing. The last one we had to bring the live fish to the tent to get it measured. That's the part that I am saying that there is no way of doing it legally.
