Another great year of 'Getting the Net!!!'

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Another great year of 'Getting the Net!!!'

Post by GetTheNet!!! »

Well folks, the boat is winterized and tucked away for the winter and I'm sitting here poking through a stocking list dreaming of ice-fishing, I think for me down here in Zone 17 the season is over until January. I might as well join the trend and wrap things up with my year in review:

This was an in-between year for me, getting back from school and looking for a new job, I'd set a few goals for myself and I'm pretty pleased with how things turned out.

I wanted to get myself a decent crappie 'check'

Image

I wanted to learn how to catch longnosed gar 'check'

Image

I wanted to catch a decent (by my standards) Carp 'check'

Image

And I wanted to meet some great fishing buddies 'check, check, check'

I really want to thank all the great fishing buds I've met this year through fish-hawk, Marc, John, Alain, Trevor, Andrew, Scuro, everyone from the kpin derby (Man I hope I don't forget anyone) you guys were all a riot to fish with. Everyone that I didn't get a chance to fish with this year, there's always next season, we'll put a few more fish in the boat.

Here's a few more highlights from this year, in no particular order.

Hope to get out on the ice/water with a few more of you next year, keep those year in reviews coming!

Best fishes,

Very nice Matt.

Quite the pot pourri of fish

You'll have to show me how to get one of those gar pike in exchange for a day of muskie fishing.

Great report.

Hey Matt,

Looks like you spent more time yelling for the net than getting the net.

Great job and thanks for sharing.
