Well I have been out of the province for the last month (wedding and honeymoon) and arrived home last night. I still have the fishing bug in me and was wondering if shore fishing was still good on the Ottawa River. I live west of Ottawa. If anyone has been shore fishing, please let me know.
there is some place you can find that you can go for walleye frome shore no prob...its is time now,,they will start to bitting on shore frome now to ice.
Water is low on the river up near you but if you can find a shoreline that is accessible there's no reason why fish wouldn't be there. Depends more on what species you're after and their seasonal patterns.
I was at Fitzroy provincial park and morris island today but no bites. its darn shallow below the dam. i had to walk pretty far to find a point that that allowed me to fish in anything deeper than 3 ft, that was at fitzroy.

Ya the water's been low below the dam in Fitzroy for awhile. I find the fish come in to shore come fall so I'd say that it's just right for shore fishing. I caught a small walleye at Morris Island last weekend and that's the first all year. Planning on going back tomorrow.
