Mustang Survival Suits

Post by BIGSTEVE »

Got a question for all you cold weather guys.....I have found a local outlet that has Mustang survival suits made for Browning. The suits are all black.....have Browning's Logo on the left front chest, with Mustangs Logo on the left arm and on the inside neck tag of the suit. The suit features velcro cinch straps around the thighs, and a manual inflation mouth piece that will allow you to blow up the collar area around your neck to provide support if you were unfortunate enough to make water contact. The suits retail for $399.98 US dollars. I can get the suit for $199.98 US dollars in any size. They are brand new with tags just left over from last year. Does this sound like a fair price?? I have never priced these suits out before.

Quite fair. :)

Buy a little larger for the clothing underneath. Like thin rainpants and a light waterproof coat. Remember, they are not water proof suits.

Steve...most survival suits I've seen don't need to be manually collar inflated by mouth......the price is right but I would do some more research into this...what boggles my mind is the fact that this suit is black  .....this doesn't make a lot of sense seeing how most survival suits are manufactured with a brilliant color so that rescuers can easily spot someone in the water....here is a pic of a suit you can pick up just north of you in Ontario for $270...it's a Helly Hansen that has a good reputation for survival....a lot of the off shore Oil Riggers in Newfoundland use these suits every day...here's a pic...if you want more info, let me know.

All I have to say is if you do any fishing during the cold weather (Spring and Fall and even in the winter on ice or in the boat :) ) these types of suit are worth there weight in gold.

I also own a HH. It cost me $199 at the hunting show in toronto last fall.

Id say that is a good deal on a mustang as they are usally high priced suits.
