Last weekend boat mishap

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Last weekend boat mishap

Post by Wallyboss »

See what happens when you go too fast when there is high wind and big waves.

This is at Petrie last weekend.

I'm very surprised there isn't a trolling motor on the bow.

now that sucks, hope no one was hurt in that incedent. Do you know if they managed to get the boat out of the water or is it a new fish home.

That kinda looks like one of those Sea-Doo boats...Probably driving out of control and hit a wave wrong...I have done that in a tinny on white lake before...I was 12 and driving with all the weight in the back so it was almost vertical. Caught a good breeze which spun me around into a wave and bam...in the drink. Never did that again and had a new respect for mother nature.

Cigarette boat!!!!! They were probably a bit on the soggy side after this. Must've been hard to light those up. It's true that smoking cigarettes is bad for you!!!!!

My guess is that the wake of a big cruiser is the somehow in play. I had no idea how deep the wake was behind some of those boats until I saw it up close and personal when I almost buried my bow when I first got my boat. At least I hit it dead on.

Bottom line, driver error.

I read about that incident in the paper - according to the paper the boat was towed to shore same day and the passengers except for some bruises were fine

Disturbing sight, but I also immediately thought: artificial shoal!

I rescued a older man from the water on whitefish lake a few weeks ago.

He was out sailing a small boat Id say around 10ft or so. He said that the wake of a large cuiser capsized him. Those people need to pull out the boater safty books and do a little reading.

All smaller underpower boats must be given the right of passage.

With that being said. This is just a reminder that anything can happen out on the water! be carefull guys.
