This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

HMMM?? Looking for Ideas for Family Fishing Vacation Week

Post by mudboy68 »

Hello All,

This site is a wealth of info and it's members are always avalible to help.

So sitting around trying to figure out where to take the family this year and I am at a loss to try to pick an area to go. Then I thought I'll ask on Fish Hawk. Good Idea!

So we are a family of 5 looking for a good lake for fishing, swimming etc. Possably a cabin or cottage for a week within aprox. a 3 hr drive of Oshawa, Ontario and reasonably priced 1000.00 or less (preferrably less).

Thanks Everyone

Great Vacation Spot

Though I have never stayed there, I well suggest making an adventure to Constant Lake Onatrio. Near Eganville Onatrio. Maybe 4 hours from Oshawa?

This lake is prime with great walleye and bass fishing. Suitable for boats of 14 feet or bigger. There are a couple places to stay, both have excellent facilities and swimming, I think one is called White Cedars Resort. The other, i think is a local that rents out his cottage by the week?

Anyways, if you enjoy super largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing and some really good evening walleye, check this lake out. I fish it regularly and do some guiding there as well. This lake never seems to stop producing qaulity and qauntity of various fish species....

Good luck on your Search!

oak bay resort on lower buckhorn.

when i was a midteen, and my brother was a young teen, our family went there for three summers in a row.

its a short walk to the town of buckhorn. they have swimming and good fishing. lots of stuff to do in the area.

i definitely remember it being within your price range (my parents weren't spending tons of dough on these trips).

Hope this helps... if you do decide on this place, let me know, and i'll set you up with some good fishing area's......i specifically remember a trip one summer having the best large mouth bass fishing of my life.....tons of big bass right near the camp.
