We went up to Wolfe Lake on Friday afternoon and spent the long, holiday wknd there working at our cottage site and sneaking in some quick fishing excursions. The weather and the autumn scenery were just SPECTACULAR. I took so many pictures, because no matter where I looked, I was amazed at the beauty of the season in the gorgeous Rideau Lakes district. It was pure "eye candy".
Anyhow, here are a few pics:
Pulled this hale & hearty fellow off the pads where I got lucky a few times last month. He was a chunky guy and put up a heck of a bulldogging fight.

Another shot, as the kids wanted to get in on the action:

Brian got this feisty pike on a little walleye jig. Again, kids insist on hamming it up. Tyler loves to hold the fish now (last year he was skittish about toothies).

Being a horse nut and missing my own pal, I had to stop to say HI to these beauties. There was much competition for a pat on the nose...
While we were working at the site, a couple rode some gorgeous draft/cross horses down to the lake. What a wknd for a ride!

Anyway, back to fishing: we got a hanful of walleye, between 14"-16", as well as some perch.
If I can figure out why the pics won't post even though I'm reducing the image size, I'll try to put up a few more (including some updated cottage shots).
Later all,
W.

Wish I could get my family out on a boat fishing...wish I had a boat....

What a gorgeous weekend to get out! It didn't look like your boys were enjoying themselves at all

Oh well. I think Bobber has had enough of my prolific pic's and has a secret sabbotage software package installed to deflect my photo's from being uploaded.
