Anyone fishing petrie island This week end?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Iceman,
Not sure what time they open, I'm launching from the Quebec side. If you need a place to launch have you tried the launch just below the golf course in Cumberland?

Hi guys, I will be going to petrie island this Saturday also. I'm putting the boat in the water for the verry first time this year!!! Do you know how much they charge for launching a boat there? I heard $8.00 and up to $16.00

What time are you going there Iceman?

Pretty sure it's 8.00 now and when the new launch opens up it'll be 16.00 but the old one will remain at 8.00

Thanks Wallyboss :D Can you recomend a few baits that have worked recently on the Ottawa for pike or Walleyes? I think the last time I fished the Ottawa river was back in 1995  Man I'm getting old fast :D

Thanks

Find Pencil weeds and then troll along them with worm harnesses, most of these weeds are in about 4-5 feet of water so i troll longline with an inline weight, but you have to find weeds. You can also try shallow diving crankbaits along the weeds. Even better if you troll with electric motor in shallow water.

Good luck I'm fishing the Ottawa 2morrow also but in Wendover.

thanks for the info :D I heard about guys fishing out of or in the Wendover area and if my memory serves me right I think the water is clear or clearer there right? Just out of curiousity why would you fish that area instead of the Cumberland, Rockland area? Is it because its just better fishing overall or other :?:

Where is the boat launch in Wendover?

Thanks again :D :D
