Heading to Arnprior.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I'll kinda secound the Morris Island thing, but I will also suggest the boat launch at Fritzroy Harbour Park itself, I've seen some wicked bottom dwellers come off of that point.

If you don't know the area, Fitzroy harbour is not the place to go unless you have good maps or gps charts - some nasty shoals around. Arnprior is no problem. Find a channel, stick a minnow on the bottom and hang on....

Hi psychodad,

You have to do yourself a favour and read the regulations. I don't know when you are intending to go but there is a large area of the Ottawa that is considered a fish sactuary until May 19.

You need to look at the regs for Division 9, 12 and 15 for the Ottawa, Madawaska and Mississippi River on Map C.

In a nutshell:
On the Madawaska from the Arnprior generating station to the Ottawa; and
On the Ottawa from Dochart Creek to the lighthouse and downstream to the train tressel,
On the Mississippi from the galetta power station to the Ottawa.

NO FISHING PERIOD.

I hope this saves some people from getting fined...

As for Catfest - there hasn't been an official Catfest since 2003. In 2004 there was a derby buit nothing that I am aware of since.
