Big Jim vs Bob Izumi

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Big Jim vs Bob Izumi

Post by Kpin »

Was sipping some coffee, flipping through the channels on the tube and lo and behold, who do I see?

None other then our own BigJim on the Real Fishing show! By some strange coincidence I happened upon the show precisely when Izumi and Big Jim were having a shore lunch, I didn't see Jim actually do any fishing, (though I'm sure he did).

The real Q is.......did ya actually let Izumi have any of the shore lunch Big Jim?

Bob Who???

Post by Big Jim »

Bob is a great cook on top of being a great angler...probably the best ever in Canada, although I do frequently remind him that I have two Canadian Classic rings and he has one...Tee Hee.

He didn't get a chance to eat fish as he did not catch any fish the day before when we were gillin'it for the World Championship.....good thing they didn't have Genzer but he was busy.

In fact the score of the first International Gill-Off was BOB & Moi =21, Eric & Tom Gruenwald=17, with my good buddy Bob registering a "0" which meant he had to cook and I got to keep the trophy.

Plan to hit some perch tomorrow afternoon if I can get caught up by then....man it never ends and at this time for the year the pile gets bigger...not smaller.

I saw the show too, twice today. Yeah I know, get a life! It was a good show though and they showcased a lot of HT Enterprises icefishing equipment.

First off when I saw this post "Big Jim vs Bob Izumi" I thought it was for a boxing match! And I was going to put my money Bob.

But seriously Jim you should try and come down my way and try for some Lakers! Been having a ball.

And one more thing about your pile. My Dad told me when he was younger heading out to the outhouse this time of year he would have to knock it over with a old hockey stick to get it smaller!

It was a good show, informative and good to see an expert outfish the TV personality :D . But, a coffee maker!! I guess the sponsors want their products to be shown.

Actually the coffeemaker (BOB) got outfished by everybody in the group........I mean everybody, but it was good because he spent his time cleaning and cooking gill's.....key word missing is "catching"

I think the real underlying question here is who would win in a fight????

Big Jim with his raw power and size or Bob Izumi, the wiley and crafty veteran :P :P

Hey j6666, my days of left upper cuts and head butts are behind me now and as Bob once told me referring to himself "I am a lover not a fighter".. to which I replied "I am a lover henceforth the name "BIG JIM", and I am (was) a pretty good go in my day, so I win".

Let me see now...If I remember correctly it took about 2.1 seconds after that comment for him to strategically bump me out of the boat all the while smiling at the camera. Too this day it is still the only Sunami in the history the Big Rideau.

All joking aside Bob is an absolute gentleman with a wit that would make Danny Gallivan happy..."in rapier like fashion"...one for the older crowd.

BIG JIM~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~all "butt" over
