Gear for sale

Post by kingofbeasts »

So,
I’m looking to free up some space in my tiny boat therefore some things are up for sale. The add will be exclusively available on the forum for a week and after that everything left will be posted on Kijiji. The rule is first come -first served and I divided everything into lots to make it easier ( except the rods which are individually sold unless you make me a decent offer for 2 of them or more ).
Tackle:
1. Lot of hard baits (some used some new) 100$

2. Lot of bass ( and pike) baits ( some never used, some lightly used and some used)150$
Consist in one box of Topwater baits

One box of spinnerbaits and chatterbaits
And one box of bass jigs

3. Lot of heavy jigs and soft plastics 100$
The soft plastics are new in the original bag except those in the right upper corner. Same for the heavy jigs in plastic packaging. In the Altoids boxes is a mix of new and used but mostly used.

Who gets more than one lot also gets this lot of used pike baits and wire leaders for free.

Rods: Please read carefully if interested.
Because I recently built some new rods for myself ( you can see them in the “Latest creation “ topic), I decided to sell some of my older rods. Right now I have 3 rods for sale but I might add some later.
Al 3 are custom built or custom modified by myself for myself and they have upgraded guides compared to standard models that come from factory ( Namley the original cheap Y or V style guides, with aluminum oxide insert, were replaced With Fuji KR tangle free guides with SIC or Alconite inserts). Please keep in mind that I have a no return policy so, if you are not sure, please do not offer to buy any of them. Since they were built by myself, I do offer a two years warranty for craftsmanship however, I cannot offer any warranty for components ( blank included).
All 3 rods ar in two pieces with tip over butt connection and were built for shore fishing therefore they are longer than the length specified on the blank ( the other characteristics like line rating and casting weight are the same as inscribed on them). Al 3 rods have the paint partially stripped off the blank to make them lighter, more responsive and more sensitive. I preserved the decals and paint (partially) only on the lower segment the tip segments were completely stripped off.
If you have questions you can ask here or write me a pm but please keep in mind that I am not looking for debates so do some of research on your own on the painted/unpainted blanks ( rodbuilding.org has plenty of topics on the matter).
That being said here they are :
1. Daiwa RG . 120$ or best offer
Walleye spinning rod, from the factory in one piece but transformed into a two pieces configuration, measures 86”and 1/4 in length ( 219 cm) , 46” (117cm)collapsed and the tip segment is 3 and a half inches(9cm)longer than the butt section; 1/8 to 3/4oz and 6-12lb line. The other modifications made were paint stripping of the upper element, and upgraded guides to Fuji KR tangle free guides with SIC insert and gun smoke frame.
The original description is this :
“The Daiwa RG Walleye Spinning Rod features Daiwa’s exclusive SVG graphite blank and reel seat. The handle on this rod utilizes a unique hybrid blend of quality natural cork and EVA for comfort and durability. Additional features include a power lift triangular fore grip, X-tube rear grip, and a hook keeper. The Daiwa RG Walleye Spinning Rod is budget friendly and makes an excellent choice for targeting a variety of species fished in open waters.”

2. St. Croix Avid - 250$
Also transformed into an asymmetrical two piece rod with a total length of 86” and 3/4 ( 220,5cm) and 48” and 3/4 collapsed ( 123,5cm) . The tip section is 8” and 5/8(22cm)longer than the butt section .
Paint was stripped starting with the first guide and the guides were upgraded to Fuji KR Concept Tangle free guides with Alconite inserts and gunsmoke frame. Fast action, SC III graphite blank with a power of 8-14 lb and a casting weight of 3/8 -3/4 oz. Yet another good walleye rod, being very light and sensitive.

3. St. Croix Avid X - fully custom -300$.

Only the decal was kept from the original rod ( fully stripped of paint) and the rod was rebuilt from scratch into a two piece rod. Composite cork ergonomic butt , blank exposed reel seat with carbon insert and black EVA for the handle, with silver Fuji KR Concept tangle free guides with SIC inserts. Multi -thread(multi color)construction has thicker tread on the butt section ( first 3 guides were the power is) and thinner thread on the runners (tip section )for reduced weight and improved sensitivity.
It is a Med-heavy rod, fast action with a power rating of 12-20lb and 3/8-1oz casting weight rating. It is 95” and 1/4 ( 242 cm) long and 48” and 3/4 or 124cm collapsed ( two equal segments)
For me is one of the best allaround rods one can have in Ottawa areas ( from jigs to spinner baits and top waters it handles everything very well).
Casts like a dream and it’s very sensitive.
Reel not included!!
