Hey folks, looking for better fishing areas in the Ottawa area.

Been hanging around Mississippi lake and toured from Buckhams bay to Quyon ferry with little to no luck on catching the elusive Mr Walleye.

I am looking for some better spots where I can drop my 16 in and spend a day, just relaxing and hunting Mr W.

I also want to know if it's possible to boat (Again I have a 16 crestliner storm ) between Mississippi lake and Dalhousie Lake?.

There looks to be a solid pathway just not sure if it's been done with something larger than a Canoe?

Open to locations within a 45 min drive (West, south west end ) if there are any, again something that would be a relaxing day on the water.

FYI I'm from northern Ontario, used to Fishing, Nippissing, Temagami,Trout Lake wicksteed type lakes where there is plenty of Mr. W action and not crowded .

Thanks folks in advance

Hello, just a quick answer for now, you cannot boat from Mississippi Lake to Dalhousie Lake your boat will not be able to get through Sheridan Rapids, I know this because my family cottage is on the Mississippi River at Sheridan Rapids. You can launch your boat at Sylvania Lodge and fish that end of the river or go under the bridge and fish Dalhousie Lake. I was there a week ago and my 20 foot aluminum boat went under the bridge with a foot of clearance.

Hello and welcome. Lake Madawaska (Head Pond) has some decent walleye spots, but I do better in early season. The Fishhawk map below has some spots identified to check out. I live in Barrhaven and Clay Bank boat launch is about 45 minutes from my house. Feel free to DM me for more details.
