By no means am I trying to insult your work. I actually really like the one that has the Morethan ( I assume. the one with pinkish line) mounted on it. And by the way, excellent choices of reels.
Just stating as an outsider looking in, I don't know if I could trust that reel seat. If it had some sort of hidden screw lock on it, I would probably trust it more but as you have pointed out, they can fail too.
Regardless, you're building very nice rods with what looks to be all high end components so they do impress me.

Very nice details, I fix guides but I haven't built anything from scratch yet. I like the finish

I know that this wasn’t your intention, so no offense taken

I know my concept takes some “getting used to “ since I answer pretty much same questions every year on various discussion boards or on social media. I even made a tutorial about how I do it 5 years ago , but I’ve made some changes and improvements since ( some due to the fact that new materials and tools became available to me). However one of the “ primitive” version of the Constrictor reel seat was this one: [youtube]

That, in the video, is actually the one that holds the Stella FI nowadays on my Sage CT 290

The black reel with pink line is actually a Shimano C3000 MG custom painted ad my request
Thank you once again for the compliment, maybe we will meet on the river banks sometime and you will have the chance to see one of them

Thank you! I started pretty much the same way, doing repairs and modifying old rods. It is all about the passion, if you like doing it rod building is not so hard to do but it takes patience and time

Now those Sage builds (especially with the Morthan), look very clean!
