Push pole length suggestion

Hey guys,

Haven't been here for ages but thought it would be the right place to ask! As well as fishing the ottawa River I also hunt ducks in the fall. I hunt mostly small baies and marshes near Rockland in late September all the way to December. I use an otter stealtg 2000 which is more or less as 12 ft plastic hunting boat. I Am looking to buy a push pole as this thing paddles like a tank and my Honda 2Hp won't push me through dense weeds. As it is a small boat I am looking for a retractable pole. I found a few and options are extended 10 feet, 11'6 and 16.

What do you guys think I can get away with??

I have push poles at the store that collapse down to about 4 1/2' and extend out to 12'.
