Well I went down to the pier today for perch, put on a salted minnow and after catching a nice bullhead catfish I hooked into this monster! She was bulldogging for 10 minutes on my 6lb test then finally I landed her, nearly fell off the pier reaching down for her but up she came! I have no idea of the weight but she was 33 inches long and heavy as a pile of bricks!! WOW what a fight. INSANE - The smile on my face says it all!
Great fish..now go and find the big sisters..I think thats the biggest carp for the year so far. John of course is just biding his time and then he is going to slam us with some real bigguns. Its always good when you get one of your best fish.
Nice catch i don't think people noticed it was on 6lb line which in itself is a big feat when the fish get that size.
I agree with others it doesn't matter if it's a crappie, perch, muskie, carp, or bass catching the biggest you've ever had is a great achievement.
Salmon i'm certainly biding my time.. all my gear is ready to go i'll probably have a go the week before westmeath but i know it will be after we get back when it really starts to warm up.
