spring trip

Post by Jigs »

BIG O:

Nope, afraid the spring trip is out for me.

Pickerel openers with a couple of friends on the Rideau River is sort of a tradition here. It ain't no Westmeath, but we mostly do not bad (can't say great or the jinx would be in).

From reading about the Westmeath trip, looks like it would be a blast.

Nice meeting you yesterday. Catch a bunch.

Regards: Jigs.

ET,

One thing the CO said....that they are trying to get away from Put and Take Fisheries....if the fish can't sustain themselves thru reproduction in a certain body of water....they will no longer be stocking them...Silver is one lakes where it looks like that may happen.....

Oak, thanks for the use of the auger once again. I had to spin my own holes today and let me tell ya it made me quite sour. Been spoiled lately...

Those were the 2 biggest perch I have ever seen in person. As far as the trout fishing, as RJ said, 13 people 7 Vexlars and 2 trout to show. They are in there but tough to catch! I think I will give Muskrat a try but I think its trout bite is just as tough!!!

I beleive the laker came on a big white tube.....I had one thump my tube as well.....only a few heard my expletives.....   ....missed the hookset.... :x

We were all over the lake.....varying depths....the schools of herring/smelt would come thur often on the Vex's....those fish have a buffet to eat at their disposal.....making it difficult to get em to smack something.....I think we were in about 60 feet of water when that lkaer was taken by NT.....
