Seaweed
I know that the breakwalls that were put in also changed the currents along the shore in the area to maintain the beach and that with the dredging operation being discontinued would definitely have some effect on the water in the area(maybe even fish movements). Could that be why more Sturgeon are there? Could be.
I was also wondering if there is possibly a lack of food where they normally hang out and thought that could have something to do with it. Possibly even water temperatures.

Looks like a great day was had by all. I hope the action holds through the weekend. Bacon and Tony, congrats on the Sturgeon. I must have brought you luck when I dropped by on my way home from work. :D Wish I could have stayed longer! I have talked to a few other people who caught Sturgeon after dark in the shallower water!

Bacon, I'm curious, what would you consider a trophy for that system?

I amnot sure what size there is in there Mark or even what the possession in the regs allows. It's not a species I have ever targeted but I will at some point this summer...

For a Sturgeon, 40 lbs+ should do it :!: There's plenty of Sturgeon in these waters :!:
