The Livewells Diary - Sat, June 4th (pics)

Post by M.T. Livewell »

Dear Diary,

Need to go fishing ... badly!

Pack up kids and the Misses and off to the Rockland boat launch.
Everyone puts on sun screen except Misses Livewell, blisters to follow.

Head east for a nice long run up to Wendover to check out a stretch I bumped into last year that looked too good to be true.
Kids bored. Promise to take them to park afterwards.
Turns out, spot looked better than it produced, but did mark a bunch of fish, will try again later.

Kids really bored. Big Bass Billy glosses himself the 'Worm King', revealing his invertibrate ring of power. Butter kids up with juice and snacks and promises of the park to come.

(Misses Livewell now glows in the dark)

Hit one of favorite pike and bass spots on way back to launch. Kids really getting anxious to get off boat and onto swings.
Cast, cast, and cast shallow. 1 x 9" pike.
Move to the other side of boat, and first cast ...
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/ ... elease.jpg">
Feel pants burning in anctipation of flames from upset posters about out of season fish. Wish someone could teach musky how to read calendar.
The lure of choice crushed by the giant snake.

Misses Livewell now glows in the light.
Kids scared to death of giant fish, wanna go to park NOW.

Go to park.
Misses Livewell finds some much needed shade.

Off to drug store for solarcane and pain killers in preparation for next weekend.

Great shots Bill. The release shot is a great one.

No luck at your bass spots?

I've been waiting for a classice MT report all spring. I haven't seen anything from Big Bass Billy since cat fishing last year. :D

Ask Misses Livewell if she'd like her team logo in her sig enlarged?

Ransome's right, muskies ain't open on the Ottawa yet.

Did not get an actual measurement, but I'm guessing around 50 inches. Set the hook too well (there's a change) to get it out in the water.
Had to bring it in the boat long enough to get the bait out, and it spanned the front of my casting deck.

Quick release and she swam away with a big smile.

BTW - your kid's fine, you're the freak .
My god you guys know me well.

MT ..... Dear diary,

PS, I love my family, I love my white spinnerbaits, I love in season battles with 50 inch muskie and I love sunny days fishing.
