With all these nice pics of fish caught and discussions on meals...here is a post to see what the F-H preference is for cooking your catch....
Now this is a generalization...I realize certain species call for specific cooking methods.

Depends on type and size of fish how I cookem.., or the company I plan on eating with determines if we go the dirty fried route, or the healthy baked route
Smoked------any fish - any size, packaged to eat on the water
Smoked----candy style- (usually use on small fish of any species), smoked and dried out to the consistancy of jerky.....lots-o-sugar in the brine
Baked - Trout species....resting on a bed of bacon, drizzled with olive oil, and covered with red onion, garlic, fresh dill, and any citrus fruit available in the fridge
Grilled - larger sized salmonoids
Pan fried - fish crisp original, or my homemade breading mix
Deep fried - fish crisp beer batter, or my dads homemade batter
mmm... I love fish...... crappies and walleye last night..... and the past monday night......

perch & crappie: flour, egg wash, panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
served on fresh hamburg buns lettuce, cheese slice optional, homemade tartar sauce & lemon wedge. Move over fillet-o-fish from MacD.
Walleye: pan fried in a good hot heavy pan with butter and a touch of grapeseed oil to keep the butter from burning.
Stream trout: remove head & entrils roll in flour & pan fried in good bacon fat.
If your handy with a filet knife butterfly the fish and stuff with a mixture crab, shrimp, shallot, parsley and buttered bread/cracker crumbs and pan fry.
Laker: cut fillets into portions and roll in flour & pan fried in good bacon fat.
Take two fillets and fry in an oven proof pan. get a real good sear and color on one side of fish, add some crab meat and small shrimp to tops of fillets sprinkle some crushed Ritz mixed with melted garlic butter and fresh parsley over crab & shrimp and finish in the oven at 375.
salmon: Depending on the size.
Ceder plank on BBQ.
Foil wrapped with butter, onion, lemon or lime or both on the bottom with onion, lemon or lime or both & dill on the top.
Individual portions wraped in parchment paper with 3 or 4 16-21 shrimp and 3 or 4 scallops topped with butter, shallots, chives and a dusting of Old Bay, bake in oven at 375.

JFTV diet
Breakfast: 2 scoops of whey protein isolate, 4 egg whites, 1 shredded wheat, 290ml of water, 1 banana and a huge tblspn of peanut butter....blend and drink.
mid-morning: 1 protein shake
Lunch: 180 grams of fish, chicken or beef with spinach, brocolli and other veg,
mid aft: 1 protein bar
post-work-out: 1 protein shake
dinner: 180 grams of beef, chicken or fish, 140 grams of red potato or brown rice, vegetables....salsa and hummus for taste.
8:30: 2 rice cakes with organic PB....
Rinse, Wash, Repeat....
Now its looking like the competition is pushed out till Nov...
But when I do eat fish I really like beer battered haddock/cod, baked salmon and trout....
Not really a fan of fried foods....or salt.

Just curious guys as to why bacon?
Is it a flavor thing or just that the fat tends to keep fish moist???
Curious
(Yes I can eat bacon....and lots of it!)

Why bacon you ask......
Well why not bacon?? lol.
My reason for bacon......I dunno...... Bacon makes everything taste better...... Heck bacon could even make rotten sockas taste good.....well.......never mind...... I could go on and on about bacon..
But me...... I am curious also... I know you are the "owner" of this thread, and you may steer it anyway you like, but WTF does the "JFTV diet" have to do with "how you like your fish cooked".
It just boggles my mind why you insist on sharing all this unrelated, useless info on a fishing site.
Really.
Is it to make you feel better by trying to "blow your own horn"?
My list of questions is much too long, and non-related.. But serious, everything from your diet, to moving to the US, to all the toys you own, to your parents owning many rental properties, to you uncles rolls royce, always talking about yourself......."bragging" if you will...
Like I said, start a blog, or join twitter or something....
It seems every thread you comment on (some valid comments and compliments for sure), but you always have to throw in something about yourself.
Why is all I ask? And I am sure you have figured out by now, I am giving you a hard time. Why? Because I have the "parts" if you will, to speak up. This is a fishing site, and sure it has a "non-fishing" thread, but it really seems EVERY time you comment, it all goes back to you, whether it is your own thread or not.
Cheers.
If you shake it more than twice it's considered playing with it.
p.s.
To avoid future injuries, please refer to the following image for proper squatting techniques.
Thanks
