I just came across a technique for mid depth trolling (50 ft) thats quite simple. Take a 6.5 or 7 feet bass casting outfit and spool it with 10 lbs line then attach a leadcore section of 3 or 4 colors then add a length of 8 lbs line to that then your spoon.....Interesting. Beats buying a steel line ...

CHARLESTON LAKE

Reading the posts on Charleston Lake here has gotten me interested in Lake Trout fishing. Heck, I only live 15 minutes away and have spent many hours there fishing bass and pike and in the old days lakers through the ice. Could someone help? What is best; wire, leadcore, downrigger or even jigging? ...

Fish Dog Lake if you must but if you want decent pike action in this neck of the woods head about 20 minutes south. Take Joyceville Rd off Hwy 15 follow to Hwy 2.
