Potato Island Georgian Bay

I have the opportunity to fish Georgian Bay this summer, early August. I will be staying on Potato Island with several families. Me and my children absolutely love fishing. I have the opportunity to fish the area in a small aluminum boat and 9.9 outboard. I am an experienced fisherperson, but not an...

Quinte

On time about 15 years ago, I was out on Quinte. Just an absolutely lousy day, windy, cold, the ice was beginning to thin in anticipation of spring weather. The fishing was absolutely terrible. I was sitting outside on a white bucket, jigging when this guy walks right by me holding a bottle of Jack ...

Niagara Salmon and Trout Fall Fishing Questions

:? Hi everyone, I am a new resident in the Niagara Region (St. Catharines). I have heard many people talk about the fall salmon and trout runs??? I have no clue what all this information means. I would very much like to take advantage of the fall action, but I have no idea where to start, who to ask...

Try a little liquid soap or some dish detergent in there, but if you can warm the bottom section, and get something slippery in there, it should pop free.

So far I have to give myself an F - I have never had a year like this, I have missed fish, I have lost fish on the way to the boat, and in general being on the wtare has been an exercise in futility so far. I hope to get out a few more times this year, but if the trend continues with all the money I...

Back from Cecebe

Well I'm back from Cecebe. It was a nice day, cloudy, overcast, but calm no wind and a few times the sun poked out of the clouds. The locals mentioned that there had been heavy rain the last few days and the weather was noticeably cool. We got on the water about 9 am and decided to troll the shoreli...

Map of lake Cecebe

Anyone know where on the web I can find a map of Lake Cecebe. Just a plain old map of the lake, if possible showing the topographic features would be a bonus. I am going up tommorrow and would like to have a bit of information about the lake. On a side note, has anyone fished the lake, what can I ex...

Excellent catch, I still havent come close. I am planning on going up to Lake Cecebe near Burks Falls for some bass and pike on Thursday.
I dont think the lake hold muskies so I will just go for my personal best with pike.

Congrat though, it truly is an awesome fish.

Broken Shimano Red Tip

Wondering ifa nyone has had any stories or advice for me. I broke the top 4 inches off my shimano rod (Magnum lite graphite - bought it 15 years ago). It was a good rod and a shame to toss it out. I had it repaired but its just not thesame. I e-mailed shimano, what are my chances of this scenario co...

I am also in the same group of avid fishers without a boat. I would love to get the chance to go out even once or twice a year with someone who had a boat, regardless of what we were fising for. I am a relative newbie to this board, so as an inexperienced fisherperson I dont post a lot because I mos...

What about keeping live fish (say like a pike or bass in an aquarium) is this possible. The reason I ask is because I think it owuld be a nice compliment to an educational setting. I am asking because I woulod like to use them in a high school setting as part of a natural ecosystems unit in grade te...
