Re: And into the water they went... Opening Day Misfires

EPIC UPDATE TIME Ladies and Gentlemen, good news for me, not so good news for the Large and Smallmouth bass of Eastern Ontario: I was able to retrieve 2 of the 3 rod/reel combos I lost a few weeks ago when my Kayak flipped. I contacted the Parry Sound Dive Shop and they put me in touch with a young...

Re: mystery tackle box

Received my first Mystery Tackle Box yesterday and as promised I will give you a run-down of the product I received: 1. 2 VMC drop shot hooks (wasn't the same drop shot hook as indicated on the MTB card that comes with the order, they included a note saying I would recieve an "extra special&quo...

Re: mystery tackle box

My sister signed me up for this just as a nice thing to do (what a great Sister, eh?) I am supposed to be receiving my first month's shipment any time now (was sent July 10th) Once I recieve it I will post back on here about the contents and my first impression. One thing I like about it, is that th...

Re: Can I fish "your" Lake?

I believe strongly in Landowner's rights, but I also believe in the rights of Anglers, as fishing is a heritage sport, after all. I also have zero tolerance for nutjobs that provoke and unnecessarily cause grief for others. Life is too short, amirite? This made me think back to when I was a little k...

Re: Advice Sought: Getting set up with a good tackle box sys

I purchased a Plano 3700 Guide Series tackle bag this off-season and I have been very happy with it. It holds upwards of 7 plano 3700-sized tackle trays (says 6 but you can fit 7 trust me) and it also has a moulded top with a latch so you can keep one of the trays on top of your tackle bag for easie...

Berkley Flicker Minnow and Jackall Pompadour

Has anyone used either of these new baits yet? I haven't seen either at retailers... Maybe Ed has the Pompadour... I'm interested to tie these on this summer.

Cheers

Looking for a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth Spinning Rod

I'm in the market for the Fenwick Elite Tech smallmouth spinning rod, 6'9" medium/xf. Sightly used is ok in my books. I love these rods and am having difficulty finding anywhere in Ottawa that has them left in stock. Maybe someone around here wants to part with theirs or something. Hit me back ...

Re: Bass in the Canal

Yup, there's some nice sized bass in the Canal. FYI check out the inlet near 3rd street in the Glebe off the main canal.

I hit this guy who weighed in at just over 4 lbs. last summer.

They'll also hit almost any plastic you throw at them. Typical Piggies, eh?

Oh, there be some niceeee size bass in the Canal...

Re: And into the water they went... Opening Day Misfires

HA, yes my GF was aware of her being right (rule #1 they are ALWAYS right, StarTsar.) However, she was very awesome about it. Sensing I was upset, she immediately took me into town for Beer and Wings. There was only minimal chiding of me losing my rods and reels and she even knew the actual price ta...

Re: And into the water they went... Opening Day Misfires

Yes, I was out for about two hours the following day with my deep-cranking rod and my Mann's 20 and 30 foot deep divers trying to smash around the bottom to see if I could get lucky and hook one of them. Didn't even get a bite let alone my rods back... fiugres. Also, this tragic event led to many ma...

And into the water they went... Opening Day Misfires

I had a blast reading all of the various posts this off-season about what gear we were all excited about, and I must say that after spending thousands of dollars this offseason, I was also very excited when i found myself out in my new kayak, fishing in a pristine private lake east of Georgian Bay.....
