Re: alternative to Navionics app

In response to your question, I was using the Navionics app on my smart phone. I don't have any older sonar units or cards so I don't think the rest of your comments apply to me. (But then again, I'm not really sure what I'm talking about here).

alternative to Navionics app

Until this year, I have used the Navionics app while fishing in the Ottawa Valley. It was never really necessary but I always felt it was worth the subscription cost. But this year, the subscription has increased to the point where I won't pay it. $80US is too much for me. Is there another option fo...

Re: Fish-Hawk Improvements....

Just saw the new layout for the first time and it looks very good.

But I’m not sure how to access the Navionics feature that you mentioned. Is there anything you can tell me to get me on track?

Thanks

Caught this pike (?) on the Ottawa River after launching at Acres Road and heading downstream towards the dam at Chenaux, on a warm calm day in about 8' of water on a red devil.

Can I go down to one battery

I have a 14' Princecraft with a floor and remote console, powered by a 1996 Johnson 25 fitted with a 4 amp non-regulated alternator. At present there are two batteries in the boat. Battery 1 runs the electric start, bilge pump, running lights, fish finder and 12v outlet for phone charging. Battery 2...

Re: Navionics US and Canada Boating App

I've used this app for a couple of years now and have been satisfied with it. I've used it on the Ottawa River around the Chenaux Dam, both upstream and downstream and have found the depths in agreement with my fish finder readings. Hate to ask an obvious question but are you sure you're not compari...

Re: Boat seats

Funny thing about Cabelas Pro Fisherman High-Back Seat. I bought one on sale but returned it because the back felt too vertical and the seat length was too short. There is a rivet on each side hinge that acts as a stop for the seat back. This rivet position keeps the seat back in a too vertical posi...

Re: Boat seats

Valley Lad: Thanks for the feedback. I was in Cabelas today looking at seats. I saw a high end Tempress seat at $249, looked great but out of my price range.

I'll be keeping an eye open for a sale at Cabelas.

Boat seats

The seats in my 1996 Princecraft ProSeries 140 are starting to show their age. The vinyl is cracking and the seats get wet and retain moisture, and the screws/bolts that hold the back to the seat hinge are coming loose. Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement? I was very happy with the seats but...
