Re: Spring Time Walleye ...... let's see them!!!
Jim, by slow roll I take it you mean a slow death hook that spins around.Or is that just another name for them, there's not much online about slow roll. That means it's spinning the trebles as well, hence the need for that swivel above the treble. Or does the treble restrict the spin of the offset ...

Re: Eastern Ontario Walleye
I tried saying that to a cop one day..."but officer, everyone else was speeding". Whether it's enforced by someone being charged or not, at the end of the day it's about ethical behavior and respect for the fishery. Sorry Jim if I sound harsh about this issue, but it's a slippery slope. I...

Re: Eastern Ontario Walleye
Yes I agree my photos were definitely posed, but so are hundreds of muskie photos online, on tv and in magazines and the mnr does not seem to care. So the law says one thing and it does not seem to be enforced.

Re: boat ownership search
It's a 2013 Lund 1775 Impact with a 115 and a 9.9 on separate control boxes. With a few more upgrades (fishfinders, electric trolling motor, and possibly downriggers), it will be my dream fishing boat. I hope one day I will catch the giants you and others are catching on the great lakes :-) Thanks ...

Re: Eastern Ontario Walleye (Zone 18)
That begs the question, are you allowed to purposely target over the slot fish, with the intention to catch and release? How do you target oversized fish???? When I am fishing Bay of Quinte walleye looking for 10 pounders, I use larger lures then I was using that day. If I used even smaller lures, ...

Re: Eastern Ontario Walleye (Zone 18)
I don't mean to be a party pooper, but in FMZ18 those fish in the photos are obviously outside of the slot-size (40 to 50 cm) for retention. I understand that you released them, but the reg's state they must be IMMEDIATELY released and photos can't be taken...certainly not "posing" with t...

Thanks for posting an update and some good tips for buying and selling a boat.
So the important question….. what did you buy for a boat?

Eastern Ontario Walleye
I met up with my buddy Matt the other day for a late afternoon trip to try for some walleye and pike. It was quite windy so we figured we would start trolling crankbaits to see if we could locate a few fish. Not too long into our fishing I get a hit, but no fish.... a few minutes later, on a turn an...

Re: St. Lawrence River
Hello everyone, If you ever fish the St. Lawrence River for walleye please consider supporting this cause. The organization is on the US side of the St. Lawrence, but the fish don't know not to cross to the Canadian side, lol, so everyone the fishes the river benefits. Here is a link to the Facebook...

Re: Hello!
Thanks for the Welcome Jim. I'm planning to go out for pike on Sat. My lakes choice are White Lake or Mississippi lake. I've had best luck on Miss lake in the past, but I've never been out this early. I was out scouting White Lake last weekend, it's early enough that there are no weed beds yet. I'm...

Re: Hello!
Hey there, BC fisherman, moved to Ottawa during covid. I like both fly fishing and conventional. Looking to learn how to catch new species such as pike and pickerel which weren't really available where I was out West. I also need to figure out where to find trout at some point. Eventually I'll vent...
