Lower Rideau...Lost Licence Plate Feb 14, 2015
Hey friends, I know this is a long shot, but either way worth a try. During yesterday's Perch Derby on the lower rideau the front licence plate on my truck was torn off after hitting a large snow bank. The snowbank in question was located right at the registration area for RJnBirdees Annual Panfish ...

Re: Sweet start to the season.
Cool, I did not know there were white fish in the Rideau watershed!? What stretch if you don;t mind me asking (nothing specific). Sure, I don't see why not zippy...keeping "non-specific" in mind I can tell you it was on the Big Rideau 8) Thanks for the compliments guys, much appreciated. ...

Sweet start to the season.
Great start to the hard water season, thought I'd pass this along to get all you people stoked for awesome season ahead...I hope this is a sign of things to come :-) I was lucky enough to have the Rideau Watershed grace me with this 27" 6lb 2oz bad boy this morning, woohoo! http://i1298.photobu...

Re: question about gas Auger
I went on a search for the thing last year at this time. Unfortunately no one in the Ottawa and vicinity sells the stuff, I called dozen places...every fishing store within a 150k radius and even some authorized Viper engine repair outfits and no luck. Mind you there's nothing wrong with getting sma...

Re: New Beginnings!
Nice work! Love to see an old boat get tricked out like that. Just a month ago I did the same thing to a 60's era 14' Princecraft Springbok. It's a great idea to use drywall for templates, wish I thought of that! I was just oversizing my plywood slightly and then dry-fitting it constantly until I wa...

Re: Just a reminder to everyone
I'm with tbone on this one....I think the bigger lesson in this video is not to drive your boat like a complete moron at such ridiculous speeds....the life jacket and kill switch is just a bonus lesson, that life jacket wouldn't have done squat for that guy had the boat landed on his head after he w...

7-8 Inches on Lower Rideau today. and my first hard water fish of the season @ 27"....my gloves kinda photobombed the pic though, felt like it was pushing close to 30 below out there with that wind! http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag43/jdf76/9f6f653f-df4d-4d9f-97d4-935fb68c664a_zps0ccb981f....

Re: new ice portable
No the clam one is brand new model. Go to website its on there. It looks like a gas auger u hold both sides of a mount and it sits on ur auger. Drill is put in the middle I gotcha, my bad....I must of skipped over the post where tbone mentioned the details of the unit he was talking about, just out...

Re: Ion Ice Auger
Next option would be the Strikemaster with the Honda 4 stroke weighing at on 23 pounds. I've heard nothing but good things about that particular auger, however its a little on the pricey side...it would be a good grab from CT on sale. I just recently bought a new auger myself, if you search the for...

Re: new ice portable
how much would shipping and handling be on a portable from the US? I'm not sure, perhaps if you did up a mock order on their website it would tell you. They shipped mine to Ogdensburg for free, so $20 bucks in gas there and back from Smiths Falls, pay the HST on the item at customs and was good to ...

Hey Tbone, I started the same thread last year when I was looking for a portable, its too bad the server crashed losing all the contributions guys made, would've had tons of info to help you out. But time for a rebuild on the topic...I can only comment on what I ended up purchasing and have physical...

Re: Ice Fishing - Augers
I finally pulled the trigger and bought my very first auger. After a bunch of research online, in forums, in stores etc... I decided to go with the Eskimo SharkZ51. There's many to choose from, I'm sure I would've been happy with a Strikemaster or Jiffy as well and I believe at the end of the day th...

Re: Ice Fishing - Augers
Anyone know where to purchase a Strikemaster here in Ottawa? In my research the Ottawa area has little Strikemaster selection, CT has only 1 type, only worthwhile if it's on sale. Lebaron's doesn't carry any, perhaps SAIL will when they roll out their winter stock. Otherwise your stuck heading to V...
