Re: Skunked by crappie again!
The temps aren't there yet it seems. The north winds over the last week and a half I believe haven't helped. I have had a couple PM's regarding this very subject. I have been marking them, yet we only boated one. This weeks temps will really make the bite come alive I suspect. I did however see my b...

Re: Secret handshake?
Rod,
Secret hand shake! Love it!
I too, when ever I meet someone, I always ask, hey, are you on FH? And if they are not I tell them about.
I should slam a big logo on the boat. Hmm
Would I than be sponsored or a field rep...
Lol.
I have met some great friends on here. Keep it up guys!

Re: Is it the rod, or coincidence???
I was kinda thinking it was the rod too!
It just had the right back bone to hold the hook set.
I must say, that is a great testimony For investing money into quality gear.
5 hits yesterday and all 5 needed to be released.
Now to get the numbers up!
Man I love this sport!!!

Is it the rod, or coincidence???
So today I had a great time despite the cold wind out in the water. I noticed something odd today. While retrieve had to be very slow, I did not have bites per say, I had hits that stuck. I say odd, as I was using a jig head with a white curly tail grub maybe 3 1/2"s. So an easy bait to bite, a...

Re: open seat for a crappie fish on the dark side...
Well, Finally got some fish on the end of the rod!!! Nothing to write home about, all OOS, 3 pike and a respectable bass on a white curly tail grub, but man it felt great to feel that twitch and tug on the rod again!!!!! The screen was lit up with pan fish, yet nothing liked my offerings. Another co...

Great report and interesting observation regarding average size of fish caught.

Great report, not sure where you fishing in the Ottawa, but kettle island stretch was 42.8 degrees last night. And it was a cool wind at dusk for sure. The young lad and I tried our hand at some crappie fishing, yet I was not set up just yet to stay put when they lit up the Helix. And did they ever ...

Bass bomb, Ed is a knowledgable retailer, he carries Humminbird, and knows his product. I say this, as I see you have just recently joined and may not know some of the frequent contributors. It requires different transducer technology for DI and SI imagery. So just go with a Helix Or Lowrance regula...
