Re: Reels
Another handle option is the Lew's handle. I got a few here and they are nice upgrade for only $50. I'm looking for spools to upgrade my Lew's Tournament Pros. How is that working for you? I wonder if any of the Abu ones would fit? I imagine it would be hard to find as they are still relatively new...

Re: Reels
After four years of use, I upgraded the bearings in my Gen 2 ABU premiers. I used BOCA orange seal bearings.
There was a very slight difference in performance.
The bearings that are in the ABU premiers must be very good quality.

Re: Chatterbaits- who uses them?
Has the chatterbait been of any luck this year? I have yet to purchase any....wondering if I'm missing out. Really like that Molix. The only way to find out is to purchase a half dozen and try them out. I'm thinking they might be another alternative to spinner baits. I can see where this might have...

I already started a thread on that same subject last September 18th http://www.fish-hawk.net/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=44300 StarTaz, But seeing as you got very little replies, I thought I'd re-re-post. Are you stirring the pot, what a sh$t disturber! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/25r30wi.gif http...

Re: Well, Shimano is winning me over again.
Sure RJ : So, I am wrong when I state most people have cash to spend on rods and reels in the $500+ range? Hmmm..... No kids maybe? Double dippers? Retiree's? Sponsored? I highly doubt someone in their 30's and 40's, who raises a family, mortgage, car payments etc has that kind of disposable ...

Re: BOQ Ice fishing guide question
I dunno about that Steve I fished WBay a lot this winter. Not many quality eyes were caught! Keep in mind we put the shack right over a hole one of our buddy's pulled a 10lb walter out of. It was not repeated and 8 guys were fishing it day and night all season. Could it be that your not using the r...

Re: Best Daiwa for Jerk Baits
I'm rethinking the T3 MX ..... Here is a caption from another forum that got me thinking that the T3 is probably not for me. "One more thing to note is that I love the way this reel palms. It's extremely comfortable to hold. I really like the little rubber grips, nice touch. If I had one bad th...

Re: Rod VS Reel
Is Dobyn's only for bass? Do they make rods for other species? I wish someone would make a rod with good sensitivity for jigging down to 200ft! Sometimes the lakers will light tap the falling lure and a quick stop/set might be all that's missing! Give Gary Dobyns a call and ask him which rod would ...

Re: Rod VS Reel
It takes me a long time to decide because I do a lot of reading and research. I usually ask a lot of questions to those that are using the products I'm interested in. Without giving up a name, someone on this Forum had the opportunity to assist a Dobyns Pro-staff function and field test a prototype...

I looked at the NRX but hate that they don't have full cork grips.Jason Daoust wrote:I spend more time looking at a rod over a reel. I keep looking at the Dobyns rods but always end up with a loomis . I might have to try a Dobyns this year . They are reasonably priced and do have a better warranty

Re: Rod VS Reel
For me, choosing a rod is simple. I buy Dobyns. I own 8 of them and adding two more this season. I purchased a lot of rods over the past 20/25 years and for me right now, Dobyns won me over . They offer an excellent product, have after sales service and warranty that is the best on the market. I'm w...
