Ya you're definitely safe out there.... as long as you don't get stuck on the snow drifts.

We're the furthest hut out (about 1.5 km) and it's at least 16" of ice there now.

We're looking for bigger walleye. The numbers have been good but they've mostly been ones we've had to throw back. The biggest we've gotten so far is about 2 lbs. Last year we were pulling out 3-4 lb walleye. I got about a 5lb pike out of the bunch too. Lots more lyng out there for sure as well but ...

Those are some nice fish for sure. We've been lucky this year for sure. Best on record for us and no lyng cod as of yet. It was tough fishing Friday night for sure. With the really cold weather rolling in it probably didn't help. If you go where the main cluster of huts are on Shirley's Bay you'll b...

FK, Thanks for the update. My buddies and I should be bringing out our shack (aka trailer) on Sunday. Where do you have your shack set up? As you come down the ramp onto the river you see a cell tower slightly to your right on the Aylmer side. Head in that direction for about 300 yards. You'll see ...

The drifts are there but should be ok to get in and out. I wouldn't be surprised if someone hasn't plowed out the entrance.

Re: Shirley Bay Update

Thinking of putting out our shack this weekend (Jan 15-16). Anyone have an update on the ice conditions? Thanks BJ You're good to go... CCLad and I were out last night. Between the two of us we caught 7 last night. CC caught a solid 2 lb walleye, later in the evening (7-8pm' ish), out of the bunch....
