last minute/first time ice fishing adventure - ADVICE PLEASE

Hi, I've just been invited by my friends to join them saturday for some ice fishing on White Lake. We're renting huts with holes being dug for us. I don't know anything about the location or the depth. The last time i went ice fishing was when I was about 6 years old and using homemade tip ups. So, ...

putting the baby down and making time for a shore-fish

I'm taking a friend out for a quick fish from shore this evening after I put my daughter down for the night. We're in the Glebe/Ottawa South. I know Dows Lake can be a quick and easy spot, same with the Broson bridge and the park near Riverside and Bank.... I find though that when I do go to these a...

My Eagle Cuda gets disturbance lines while trolling

Hi, I have a portable Eagle Cuta fishfinder. It's brand new so I haven't worked out all the kinks. The problem I have is that the portable transducer, which is secured to the boat by a suction cup picks up way too much disturbance while I'm trolling. It shows up as long jagged vertical lines (which ...

Thanks alot Mudpout. Great advice. Id like to add one further question. I've tried using a worm harness on a bottom bouncer before while trolling but had a lot of trouble rigging the live-worm in the desired 'stretched-out' presentation.

Anyone have any pointers?

The Ottawa near CFB Petawawa

Hi everyone. I'm new to Fish-Hawk but I've already made great use of all the information on this site, maps and great discussions in the forum. I'm looking forward to getting a lot out of this forum-community. I'll be up at a family cottage this weekend on the Quebec side opposite CFB Petawawa (they...

fishing the ottawa near constance bay... help.

Hi, my family has rented a cottage in constance bay and I've been fishing in and around that general area with modest to completely lacking success. with the river so insanely low this year I feel that conventional advice about fishing this river doesn't necessarily apply right now. I'm a novice ang...
