Re: Under 100 hp tournaments

Actually Craig, the next highest HP *ahem* was a 60hp but who's countin'. LOL I've started doing a few tourneys here and there and have learned a lot just being part of it. Sure I get passed by guys going twice my speed, but that time on the water seeing what's what is well worth the price of admiss...

Re: Downrigger advice needed

Hi Guys, I appreciate all the advice given to my post. I never used to fish lakers in the summer, only in spring so I didn't need a downrigger. Now I have more opportunity so I would really like to get into it. Looking forward to setting one up and trying it out. I will definitely look into stacking...

Re: A little Lake O action.

Nice stuff Moonshine.
The times I've done Lake O while it was rolling I got sick as a dog....though that was on a charter. I need to develop my sea legs... LOL...
Really nice salmon.

Downrigger advice needed

I'm looking into getting a downrigger for my boat. It's a 15.5" Aluminum Single console with a 60Hp. I don't have any experience with downriggers at all.... My requirements are basic. -Manual -Inexpensive -one setup, easy to use -line counter I've been looking at the Cannon Easi-Troll ST at Sai...

Re: Deep Cycle Battery on kicker??

Having the option to switch which battery it uses/charges would be nice.
I would assume though that if you are running the kicker, odds are you wouldn't be running the trolling motor much, but it's nice to have options.

Bryson Open Bass Tournament

Hadn't checked the sign-up sheet.
I see a few fish-hawkers are signed up for the Bryson Open.
Good luck and see you on the water!
Was fun last year and hope for the same this year.
P.S
I'll be the guy yelling at his fishing partner to stop fishing for pike and walleye. LOL

Re: American Shad at Carillon

Oh yes, it's combat fishing at it's finest. If i remember correctly at Pie-IX you can fish from shore or wade in a bit on the shallower parts... pretty much shoulder to shoulder at the peak. Done that elsewhere for salmon runs, but not shad. You can even catch them in Lac St-Louis during the migrati...

Re: American Shad at Carillon

Nice outing.
I've always wanted to try it, but I've avoided the shad run because of the moshpit it usually turns out to be. During the week it's quieter I imagine.
Pie-IX was on about 2 weeks ago from what I heard.
