Late Afternoon Fishing Report
After getting out on the ice for some late day fishing 4 or 5 times this year I have found the bite and fish activity to be slower i than in the morning. Not that I have not caught fish, but in general just seemed to be slow. last evening things were a little different. Flasher was showing lots of ac...

Re: St.Croix Ice Fishing Rods?
I personally would never use the automatic fisherman or the jaw jacker for lake trout as your bail would have to be closed(and drag set properly) to get the desired hook set effect and everything well anchored. Might be good for smaller ones but with a bigger fish I would be afraid that something is...

Re: Best days fishing results so far, numbers, size?
I would have to say my best days fishing were a combination of 3 consecutive 1/2 days ice fishing last Easter weekend. On those days the trout were hitting well. Iced 7 trout and lost another 6. Had some good weights smallest was 2lbs and up from there. 7.7 lb,8.4 lb,10.2 lb,10.5 lb,10.8 lb and 13.5...

Re: Do fish finders scare fish - Ice fishing specifically?
I guess if the sonar scared the fish we would have no one catching fish thru the ice and some areas would be void of fish because of the amount of sonars turned on in one location.Maybe there is a species that may turn away from the sound but none of the ones I fish. IMO

Re: Ice Reports 2016
Have not seen the whole lake but the southern half is frozen over . Saw one pressure hole with water coming up on the ice about 40 ft from shore on Sunday afternoon. Where I was fishing there was 7 inches of ice. There was 3 inches there last weekend .So I would say the area that was open still woul...

Re: transducer issues
Had the same rooster tail with mine and with the top up it sucked it into the boat. I made a cover for the open area of the mounting bracket and ty-wraped it over the opening. No more rooster tail. Made the U shaped cover out of light guage aluminum.
