Where you fish and how you get there are very important to making a choice. I have a rack on my ATV and I like to explore. Length is important when going through the bush. At 10 ft long my Pelican also fits in the inside of my Montana. Anything works on a small lake. If you intend doing large open L...

Never owned a BMW bucketmouth.
I'm just a practical guy and love my Chev Impalla.

The Pelican is very stable, tough and I have no problems getting it to go were I want.

I bought a Pelican Pursuit at Canadian Tire for $299 on sale (Reg $399). I have been Kayak fishing for several years and love it. This Kayak is very comfortable and is short at 10 ft. I can put it inside my Montana mini van and it fits very well on my ATV on a rack. It is very stable and is great fo...

Are Crappie really crappie

I was told that the fishermen who named crappie did so because the fish was so good to eat that he felt this name would discourage people from keeping this fish.

Is this a myth or fact?

Do you keep pan fish and how do you clean and cook?

I suspect that there are two Norway Lakes. The Norway Lake I'm talking about is just off Highway 508 near Calabogie.

Mick:

There is a sort of a ramp from the K & P, but this has been gated by the snowmobile club.

Can you talk to your friend and PM me?

Norway Lake/Bass Lakes above Mountain Chute

Is there any access to a boat ramp on Norway Lake?

Are there any good bass lakes above Mountain Chute that require a 4x4 or ATV to access?

I bought some small black cable ties ( $3.09 for 100 at Home Depot).
Slide one onto a worm and clip it short. Works as good as an o-ring.

The hook is a little more secure if you catch a little of the worm just under the cable tie.

Got several bass on my first test run. Got 4 on just one worm.

I think you are talking about Constant Lake close to Dacre.
It is a good bass and pike lake. Don't know about Musky.

I was just thinking about trying shrink tubing as an alternative to O-ring and and saw this post. It looks like a great solution and I'm committed to trying this. Another idea I had was to use a 1 inch finishing nail and insert in the middle of the worm and place the hook under the nail. This would ...

I never thought about the position of the hook when you use an O-ring. You made a good point.

Are the o-rings worth the effort?

Does Bubble Gum Color Work

I keep hearing about the success of bubble gum Senko (Yamamoto) worms. I rig these things wacky and texas style. I use light colors for sunny days and go darker as I loose sunlight. Has anyone had success with these? What's your favorite colour? Does anyone know where I can get O-rings for wacky wor...

Do fish finders LIE!

I have a new boat equipped with a Lowrance DS50 fish finder. It's always showing fish mostly suspended. When I turn off fish tracker I never see the classic fish arcs. I can't believe there are that many fish. The contours and depth info look good. This fish finder is pretty low on the food chain. S...
