Re: Weekend Road Trip Report...
That temp probe is worth its weight in gold. Sadly mine has a dead battery and they can't be replaced. Have to buy a new probe I guess. Lol

Re: Edible fish
I've fished Muskrat for years. My advice, don't eat anything out of the lake. Although there is technically nothing wrong with the fish, they don't taste very nice. Most species in the lake, feed mainly on Smelt.

Re: Ottawa River (Deux-Rivieres/Mattawa area)
Mouth of the dumoine is always good. That stretch of river seems to work better with worms than minnows. I would use a pickerel rig as well.

Re: Downriggers For Salmon/Trout
If you were catching Lakers, then the troll speed was too slow for salmon. But when salmon bite is slow, like it is now, they put you on the Lakers to give you some action. Salmon start to bite better in July when the alewife move to the north end of the lake. If you want a short run to the fish, I ...

Re: Downriggers For Salmon/Trout
12 lb balls minimum. Make sure safety gear is in order and a vhf radio is mandatory. I believe they are still using ch 72. Wellington is a great place to launch but only if you know where to fish. You hit 70 fow at 7 miles out. To get 100 ft you will be out 15 to 20 miles. There are a lot of shoals ...

Marten River?
Hey folks, for the May long weekend i am heading to Marten River provincial park. I have a question, has any of you been there and can you shore fish successfully. I normally just tent it and bring the boat on a trailer but the misses is insisting on bringing the camper. I do have a great 12ft tinny...

Re: I'm done with CTC
You cant order online for the same reason you cant order tnt online. Its considered an explosive device. What got my blood boiling was that at first they offered it to me at a $10 discount claiming that they would be getting only their cost covered. Then changing their mind claiming to need to make ...

Re: I'm done with CTC
Yes the chandlery has them in stock. The one thing that surprises me most is that all of the places that sell pontoon boats over 20ft, not one of them in the valley carry the required safety equipment that they are required to have.

I'm done with CTC
This probably isn't the right forum for this but the mods can mod's can move it if they like. Like a lot of others, I spend thousands on boating and fishing. Normally the first place I start is Canadian Tire. Never again will I spend a penny on gas or products. I went to ctc in Pembroke to buy new s...

Re: Outboard problems.... no spark "help please"
check for power going to the coils. trace the wires back from the coil til you find 12 volts. there are also fuses you should check as well. double check every connection and check for voltages on both sides of connectors. I doubt very much if its the stator. you have CDI ignition so I would concent...
